Choosing your Wayanad stay by trip type
A weekend break from Bangalore looks very different from a two-week family holiday from the Gulf. A short trip benefits from a base close to your top sight — for us, that's Tholpetty safari, Thirunelli and Kuruva Island. A longer stay benefits from a resort where you're happy spending an entire day without leaving.
Jungle Edge is built for the second scenario, but it works well for weekend trips too because everything is coordinated end-to-end — you don't lose half a day to logistics.
What a typical two-night stay looks like
Day one is arrival, a pool afternoon, and a soft-briefing about the region over evening tea. Day two is your outdoor day — Tholpetty safari at 6:30 AM, Thirunelli by mid-morning, back in time for lunch and a rest, then a short nature walk before the campfire. Day three is a slow breakfast and drive back.
Guests often tell us they wish they'd added a third night. If your calendar allows it, we'd say the same.
Booking directly vs. through an OTA
Booking directly gets you a slightly better rate, first pick of cottages, and a real person on WhatsApp for pre-arrival questions. OTAs work when you need one-click convenience, but they can't hold a specific cottage for you or apply the small upgrades we save for direct bookings.

How to reach Jungle Edge
Wayanad has no airport of its own; guests arrive by road from Kannur, Kozhikode (Calicut), Bangalore or Mysore. The drive from the north (Kannur) is shorter and more scenic than the standard Kozhikode ghat road.
